From the Oude Urkerland to a few hundred gamers

1. October 2003Gamefreakz 1 at the Oude Urkerland: where it all started.
2. April 2004Gamefreakz 2, again at the Oude Urkerland.
3. October 2004Gamefreakz 3, the first of four editions at the Koningshof.
4. April 2005Gamefreakz 4, back at the Koningshof.
5. January 2006Gamefreakz 5, powered by PCGate.nl. 25 euro entry for Counter-Strike, Call of Duty 2, Unreal Tournament, Quake 4, World of Warcraft, Warcraft III, Need for Speed, Xbox “and much more”.
6. January 2008Gamefreakz 6, announced for 100 gamers, with its own opening movie and three photographers.
7. After thatGamefreakz 7 got a forum section and a “coming soon” page. That is where the archive ends.

House rules

23 rules from the Gamefreakz 6 forum, in short. Agreeing to them was part of signing up.

• Minimum age 14. Under 16 you needed a letter signed by a parent.
• Beer from 16, spirits from 18, and getting drunk gets you sent home.
• No speakers.
• No hacking or nuking other people's PCs, and no warez.
• Don't touch the network gear or cables: tell the crew.
• Only your own PC and monitor on the power, and earthed power strips only.
• A can and a cold snack are fine. Bring big bags of food and it gets confiscated until you leave: there's a caterer for hot snacks.
• Clean up your own mess.
• Bring ID: the crew checks it at the door.
• Refund up to two weeks before, minus 7.50 euro.
• In everything else the Gamefreakz crew has the final word.
